I am honored to have been selected for the “Qiyan” Program funded by the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, awarded to only 30 students across the university.
Many thanks to the committee — this is the first truly meaningful research grant I have received.
Although the 50,000 RMB funding is modest, it has provided strong support for my scientific exploration.
During the application process, I suffered from facial paralysis due to overwhelming stress and anxiety, and even after being selected, I struggled repeatedly on the edge of collapse.
It was the thought that I must live up to this opportunity and make it worthwhile that kept me moving forward.
The Undergraduate “Qiyan” Program of the Beijing Natural Science Foundation aims to nurture outstanding young scholars with the potential to advance the global scientific frontier.
It supports high-achieving senior undergraduates in conducting early-stage fundamental research, fostering in them a passion for inquiry, independent thinking, critical reasoning, innovative spirit, and the courage to explore—laying a solid foundation for building a high-quality talent pipeline in basic research.
